My grade sync is not working. How do I troubleshoot the problem?

If Grade Sync is not working the best thing to do is to check the sync status from the grade sync page.
The status will have any errors, if present. While those instructions are for a particular SIS (PowerSchool) these will apply to any SIS that you are using.
For further support you should consult your institution's Canvas Admin. Hope this helps!
A couple of things to check in addition to what @melodyc_lam mentioned about checking the status for errors.
1. There should be an option in your left course menu for Grade Sync. There is a nightly sync option. I like to leave this on because it automatically syncs every day.
2. Assignment groups have to be synced. Check out this page and find the SIS you use. You should find guides to set up assignment groups specific to your SIS. I cannot speak for all, but with PowerSchool, assignment groups have to be synced first, then organize assignments in those groups. Each group is synced to specific categories in our SIS (Classwork, Quizzes, Tests, etc).
3. If your assignment groups are synced, make sure you have turned on the Sync option for the assignment itself. On the Assignments page, this will show a black X or a green checkmark on the right side of the line for each assignment for the current sync status. You can click on that or go to the assignment settings (Assignment, then Edit) to turn on syncing with your SIS.
4. If you do not do a Nightly Sync (#1 above), then the Grades page has an option to sync manually. I sometimes use this even with Nightly Sync if I have a batch of grades to send in the middle of the day that are time sensitive.
Check #'s 2 and 3 specifically, then let us know if you are still having issues.
