Hi! I am wondering as a course admin/instructor how to edit the URL of a page after it has been created. This page is part of a module. Thank you!
Page urls appear to follow the following format:
https://yourinstitution.instructure.com/courses/14394/pages/entitled
Here entitled was the name I gave to the page so the url is formulaic with the page title appended.
I tried editing a page using the Canvas Live API which has an optional field for url - I kept the url the same as above, input entitled as the page title but changed entitled to newtitle in the url field
This did not change the url
but if I omit the title in the API the url is as I input it - but now the page title becomes the entire url...
So I think it's probably better to consider cahnging the title than trying to edit the url
Now if the page is in a module you'll also see something like ?module_item_id=938717 at the end of the url
I may have missed something but I don't think I could change the title if I submitted the module version of the url...
The difference between using the page url and the page url for the page within the module is that the latter displays buttons to access the previous and next items in the module

Therefore, I would like to set it up to where all of the correct answers…
Hi everyone We recently deployed the new Microsoft LTI in Canvas and have started using the option to create Microsoft Education assignments directly from Canvas. So far, the setup has been very easy and user-friendly. Unfortunately, we've run into a problem: when we try to change the due date of an assignment after it has…
I'm testing whether Mastery Paths can be used to give students early access to an item based on their score, while making the same item available to everyone else on a later date. Here is my setup: A 4-point assignment is the source for the Mastery Path. Students scoring 75–100% are assigned a Solutions item. The Solutions…
I am a physics teacher at a high school. I love to use the random generation of formula questions to give each student a unique quiz/test. However, units in physics are extremely important. In the past I have also used Moodle as an LMS and they included a feature that could grade the units listed after the numerical…
