So, I do realise that each course has a default size limitation of 500MB.
But, is there a maximum space limitation?
I have some tutors creating videos they want in their courses, and they will definitely run in to space limitations.

I honestly do now know if there is an upper storage limit on the technology side of things, but I'd encourage you to check your Instructure/Canvas contract or engage with your Customer Success Manager to talk about practical limits and where you stand with storage. I do believe most contracts have an overall storage amount stated in them, and as admins, it's our job to manage our overall storage using the course/group/user quotas to help remain within our limits. Instructure may provide some grace around this, but it's probably a good practice to monitor and have your contract match reality so you don't have any surprises in the future if limits become strictly enforced and overages are charged.

I've set some courses up to 10000MB with no problems...Don't know if there's a hard limit...

we keep to 500MB to encourage colleagues to think carefully about compressing images, files etc which is a matter of student experience (some students are in remote locations with slow wifi, or ar paying for data / storage).
Additionally there are now serious global concerns about environmental impacts of could based data and energy needs of server farms - hence we need to be better users of data infrastructure and storage if the planet is to survive, and efficiency is important.
Out of 800 deliveries, we only have a handful of courses that genuinely require over 500MB, which we tweak individually, and keep video on Yuja or Teams.
Note that student limits are completely seperate to course and teacher limits, and copied content does not increase quota use.

Yeah, I'm encouraging the team here to keep it below the 500MB size, had some who uploaded duplicate files which meant I had to give them some further training on their house keeping of files.
It's just 1 course that could become a slight issue, doing my best. I did show the tutor the program Handbrake to try to reduce the video size.
