Auto generated messages

Question

Hello,

Canvas seems to be reproducing past email messages I have sent to past course sections and re-sending them to current course sections. I am not totally sure if the reproduced messages are only hitting my inbox or are also going to students of my current courses.

Why is this happening?

My first guess would be that if you did a course import you imported your announcements (and adjusted dates so they're going out sporadically or didn't and they all went out at once). If this is the case, you'd see the old announcements listed in the new course.
