Canvas Message

Today is the last day of finals and I have just finished grading my students' final assignment. I am trying to send them a message in Canvas letting them know that I am finalizing their grades and that if they have any questions they need to contact me today. However, when I try to send the message I get this, "Course concluded, unable to send messages." Why don't I have the ability to send messages to my students that are still enrolled in my course before grades are finalized?

Try going into that course, and then into "Settings" (on the right.)

If you scroll down a little, there should be boxes for "Start" and "End." Change the "End" box.

Be aware that this might let them get back into the course.

Also know that it is possible your administrators have locked this down so you can not change the "Start" or "End" dates.
