Linking Menu Auto Closes First Click - Needs Opened Twice

Question

When working in a  Canvas page, when the link icon is used to open the Course Link right hand menu, it quickly opens and shuts the first time "Course Link" is selected.

When Course Link is pressed a second time, then the menu side bar opens and stays open.

What needs to be done so that only one click is needed?

I went ahead and contacted Canvas support, and they responded "This is a known issue that we are currently working on a fix for. We should have a fix prepared for our next update if not sooner."      So I might give it to the end of the month to see a fix (but looks like it could be sooner! 🙂
