How can I take attendance more than once for the same date? I have two lessons on the same day and I cannot take the attendance individually.
Hi @SarahCihan,
The only way I can think of to accomplish this would be if you had two different course shells, but that's probably even messier than the attendance issue. I think there is a fundamental assumption made by the Attendance tool that for each course shell, there is at most one daily attendance. It's not really made for tracking an activity but rather tracking whether someone showed up in the building/room for the specific course that day.
I know this probably isn't the answer you were hoping to hear, but at least know your knowledge of the tool seems to be correct and you're not missing any features.

Hello,
I had an instructor add another section in their course's Settings > Sections > Name it something appropriately. Then add all of the students to the 2nd section. When you are in the Attendance tool you can switch back and forth between the sections when doing attendance.

Hello, everyone, I am new here. I am a little worried since I started the FAML100 course at BYU-Idaho through BYU-Pathway, and there is a quiz titled "W02 Quiz Reading Research: Using Abstracts" (It appears in the Grade section, not in Modules) where I have 10 possibilities to do the quiz. I did 8 times, and each attempt,…
I am currently experiencing an issue where a student’s assignment grade appears in Moderate, but it is not populating in the Canvas gradebook. I have verified the submission is there, but the grade is still missing from the gradebook view. Is there a known fix or additional step needed to get the grade to display properly?
Due dates and available from / until dates are very confusion. I would like to provide a specific time period during which students can see and get access to an assignment. I would also like to limit the time available to complete the assignment regardless when the student starts. E.g., An assignment becomes available at 7…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
