Theres a red number next to my grades section in my classes. I've viewed my grades but it won't disappear.

What browser are you using? I've tried to replicate this myself, but any time I click onto the grades menu as a student, that number ends up disappearing. I wonder if perhaps you have an old browser or may have some kind of extension installed that's blocking communication back to Canvas for some reason. Do you have a different browser or computer you could try from to see if the behavior is that same?
