To my knowledge, no, you cannot “reset” your username in Canvas. You would need to speak with your school’s Canvas administrator or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Ed department if there was an issue with usernames. Often, if a school has set up their Canvas environment with a single sign-on experience, the change in username might affect more systems than just Canvas. Again, it would be best for you to have a conversation with folks at your school about this.

When viewing a student submission, "Error while processing or retrieving the document" is shown in Speedgrader. The PDF can be read when downloaded, but this slows grading time down a lot. What can I tell the student to do differently? Is this a known bug?
