It has come to my attention that students have been using the following chrome extension to cheat in tests: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/transcript/klknhfgkblobpfimidmhkclikdalnoke
Would you guys ban its use? can Canvas detect and block the use of this app?
Hello @DeletedUser
Thank you for contacting the Instructure Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with Chrome extensions.Unfortunately no, we cannot ban extensions on browsers for all users across out platform. However, if your students are using school computers or they are taking these tests on the school wifi - your school could ban them. If the students take them at home, then you will want to explore proctor services available through Canvas like Lockdown Browser or Proctorio. These can record the students' screens and/or webcams to ensure they are not cheating. There are others as well and many schools use this and there is a good likelihood your school already pays for it. Please reach out to your school directly to discuss options.

Even when drafts are original, longer explanations and summaries tend to reuse common phrasing, especially in research-heavy assignments. Before submitting, I usually do a quick cleanup pass to reduce…
