When creating a Google LTI assignment --
When you limit the number of assignment attempts, are submission attempts actually limited when using a third party application like Google LTI or is it just for Canvas assignments?
Hi @MsZ1,
While it may not be universally true, the way I've seen the external tools we have for assignments behave is that the external tool will work and will let the student go through whatever their motions for a submission are, and it will generally appear to work, but the canvas side will not accept the submission/score transfer from the tool once the submission limit has been hit. From the tech side, I understand exactly why the workflow is what it is, but it can be confusing for students because they don't really get locked out of making more submissions. There are a few LTI tools that have their own submission limiting system too, which will usually work better but is setup in the tool itself. My general advice to our faculty is to allow unlimited submissions on the canvas side when using an external tool assignment.
Hope this helps a bit!

Is there a trick to importing a rubric when using the Canvas rubric template? I download the csv file and fill in the Canvas Rubric template from the Enhanced Grading feature and nothing happens when I try to upload it. It only shows the file name, but not it's size. Yes, it is still a CSV. I've tried removing all symbols…
With the new SpeedGrader UI, we are seeing student names appear in the page title even when the “Hide student names” setting is enabled. When using Classic Quizzes, there is no option within the quiz settings to enable anonymous grading, so we rely on instructors using the hide student names setting in SpeedGrader to…
Speedgrader chaning file name when being downloaded. Speedgrader: When downloading a submitted assignment, the file name is being changed to an unrecognizable name — (Student's actual name was part of the file name — changed for privacy.) Ideas???
We are all familiar with the standard Course Calendar, where assignment due dates are automatically added. However, at my institution, we structure our assignments as Challenges that develop over a period of time, rather than just a single deadline. Currently, the calendar only highlights the "end point." It would be a…
The current placement of the "Submit" button creates a "slip" in user behavior where habit-clicking "Next" leads to an accidental final submission. I think Canvas could easily fix this by: Moving the Submit button away from the navigation buttons (maybe above the question instead of below it) and/or Adding a "Confirm…
