Can the Announcements also be populated in the student email of the university . In another LMS I used, one has the option to send the Announcement as an email to the students' university email account

Every user in Canvas (instructors, students, etc.) has their own notification settings that can be configured in Canvas. For example, you and your students can go to the "Account" >> "Notifications" screen in Canvas, and here is where you and your students can configure whether or not you want to receive notifications via e-mail address when announcements are sent. This is an individual user setting, so you cannot configure this for your students. Students set these options on their own. (Some students may not want to get notified via e-mail about announcements while others may want to get notified about them. The first two Guides are for setting these notifications for all courses, and the second two Guides are for setting these kinds of notifications at the course level.
I hope this will help a bit. Let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
Hi @PatriciaScherne,
In Canvas, unlike some other LMSes, each user has control of their notification preferences (what is sent to their email or other locations). By default, email notifications about announcements will go to student emails, but each student can turn that on or off as they desire. There is no way for a teacher to override student notification preferences.

Faculty are wondering if they can make individual motifications from the Gradebook setting rather than having to go to the Discussions themselves to open up and recompute scores. Canvas needs the same Speedgrader tools available for Canvas Discussions. Highlighting, point annotation, text comments, strikethrough, area annotations, etc. This would make instructor feedback easier.
Hi, all! My organisation is looking into using IgniteAI Grading Assistance for SpeedGrader to support assessment marking. I would like to ask users who have actually started using this feature within their organisations: What are the pros/cons of the tool? How did it change your work flow? Would you recommend it? Looking…
I've been using Canvas for at least 7 years. In that time I often use the gradebook to enter grades, while looking through speedgrader on a 2nd screen. I have a mix of Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes. When grading quizzes with essay type questions where the student has to type answers the gradebook shows a piece of paper…
