Assigning a leaner to a new section

Is it possible to backdate learners into a 'new' section?

My current setup: The learner has enrolled and accepted the course, I have then created a new section and would like to move them across to this new section. Is this possible? or once they have accepted are they locked in?

I have an Admin account and have tried going to:

Course > People > A Learner Name > Edit Section

but in this window the 'new' section doesn't show to be selected.

Have I missed something? Thanks in advance

To confirm, once you click on the "Edit Sections" option via the three dots kebab icon next to the user's name on the "People" page of your course, do you have a "browse" link on the "Section Enrollments" screen that pops up?  When you click on that "browse" link, do you see the section name that you had created via your course "Settings" >> "Sections" tab?  You should be able to move a student into that new section.

I've not tried this myself, but you might try to see if this works...  On your "Settings" >> "Sections" tab, click on the name of the section that you just created.  Then, click on the "Edit Section" button on the right side of your screen.  There is an area to add start/end dates just for that particular section.  What would happen if you added dates in there and also checked the box for "Students can only participate in the course between these dates"?  I wonder if this might allow you to see the section on your "People" page?
