If a student makes a second attempt at multiple choice questions on a midterm (classified on Canvas as a quiz), do their first answers disappear, especially essay questions?
Hi @KathleenMalsch ...
The question would be...who do the answers disappear for?
Does this help to answer your question? Please let Community members know...thanks!

In addition to the information @Chris_Hofer provided, I believe the following is true:
Depending on the settings of the quiz, it is possible for students who take a quiz multiple times to see all of their attempts and how they answered the questions.
You will have to restrict what the students can view on the quiz and then manually change those after the until date for taking the quiz has passed.
It will depend on which quiz version (New or Classic) that you are using. You will probably want to set the grading mode to manual in the gradebook for that quiz as well to keep students from seeing their score for the quiz they took.

Hi to the community, I understand the two reporting options in Canvas for Outcomes. I need a curriculum overview report to show what outcomes from the institutional menu are being utilized in each individual course. What we have done: Our accrediting body, AACN, has a set of Domains and Competencies that nursing must meet,…
A and B are each actually areas of the workshop with a different emphasis. Having the students split between areas makes equipment access easier. How do I allow students to choose between working in area A for the first half of the term, then area B for the second half of the term, or the opposite, while using Course…
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
