Attendance profile pictures students are missing

We noticed that in some courses suddenly the profile pictures of students are missing in Attendance view (they are still visible in Course menu - Persons). These pictures were previously visible.

Is this something changed in a release, or is this a setting in Canvas?

That sounds like very odd! The profile pictures should be displaying as they do in the People page of your course. If you are still seeing this issue, it might be best to contact Canvas support and have them take a look into this.

I am also seeing this issue, where students have no pictures in the Attendance view. Was any resolution to this ever found?

@Brave_Hamster Were you able to resolve this? We are having the same issue. The actual profile pics are fine — it's only the ones in the ROLL CALL/ATTENDANCE that apparently references our university portal where there is a copy of the photos that won't work.

here's additional weird symptoms —

it just started happening last fall
If I am on campus and on the network/wifi but using FIREFOX – I can see the photos. Using chrome – no.
If I am not on our network/wifi (either on campus or away) – the photos all show up fine, regardless of which browser I’m using
The ROLL CALL/ATTENDANCE hyperlink for where the photo should be is our local portal (which seems odd, but should still work – it’s accessible) https://xxxxxxxx.yyyyyyyy.edu/images/000071382.jpg
- The pic for the class itself is referencing Canvas and the uploaded photos – and, of course, always is visible https://yyyyyyyyy.instructure.com/courses/16479/users/15913

Canvas support tells us that it is a network permission error. Our network people say it is a Canvas error. Any ideas?

@KristiHill73325741 Unfortunately, I have not seen any change in this; I still do not see student pictures in the Attendance window. I have not done such a thorough job as you at tracking down the details of the behavior, but I am also on Firefox, if that is of any interest.
