When a student returns to the assignment, they should she your comments on the far right side of the screen under Submission Details; Or they can click on Submission Details to see your comments. When a student accessing the assignments from the Grades tab (if enabled), it will automatically take them to the Submission Details page where they can see the comments.

When you are creating a quiz and/or also reviewing a quiz in Canvas after the class has taken it, the questions aren't numbered so after you get past the first few questions, there is no way to even tell what number you are on. Can someone change that?
