Changing person status

under "people" that have access to the the canvas page - i know how to change their status - ie from lecturer, to TA or student - but there seems to be more options in the list of people than there is in the dropdown menu when changing a persons status. Is there another way to have someone as course viewer only and not be able to edit or post?

If you don't see a full list of roles to switch people to, that would generally mean your local Canvas team has restricted the roles you're able to manually assign.  In many cases, schools/institutions don't allow manual changes to roles at all, but it seems like your school/institution has given you at least some freedom.  If you have questions about what is available to you and why some roles are not included, it would be best to reach out to your local Canvas team (usually in the eLearning / IT / Digital Education areas).
