Legal Name Change; how does this apply to Canvas?

Question

I am going to have a legal name change soon. I will contact my school about this, however it is important that I know the process of changing my name on Canvas. Would I have to contact Canvas support and tell them my name legally changed? Or will the school automatically do this for me once I inform them of the name change?

I'm guessing that your school will have a system already established that will get your name changed in Canvas for you.  It would be good to reach out to your school's Registration department, their Canvas administrator, or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education department about this.  It shouldn't be necessary to contact Canvas Support about getting your name changed...as they would probably send you right back to folks at your school.  Hope this helps!
