Partial Credit for Matching Questions in Quiz

I saw a post that this was in development (from back in 2021), but when I clicked on the link to subscribe to this update, it was missing. Does anyone know if this is still in development? It would be so nice to be able to set partial points for matching questions. For example, if they incorrectly match 1 - 3 items, they lose 1 point; if they incorrectly match 4 - 6 items, they lose 2 points, etc.

Is there any update on this?

I mispoke. It is not a Matching question, it is a Categorization question.

Hi @AndiRobinson,

If you're using New Quizzes (and not Classic Quizzes), the Matching questions should have a partial credit option according to the How do I create a Matching question in New Quizzes? - Instructure Community guide.  It works by giving points for each correct match, so perhaps not identical to your answer, but not an all-or-nothing type thing.

Classic Quizzes really aren't being developed by Instructure any longer, so I don't think you'll ever see this option added there.
