Unable to see comments in an assignment

Hi everyone,

I have added in comments to documents in an assignment students have submitted. Apparently they cannot see these. I ahve checked that nothing is hidden - including in the Grade tab. The comments are next to the document and not in the comment box.

The only thing I do notice is that the green button for the assignments are a bit 'hazy'. I'm not quite sure what is going on.

Thanks for getting back to me.

You are right, that isn't a Canvas rubric. It's a document we give the students to mark off and upload. It isn't a graded assignment and we use it to evaluate a video recording that is on another system.  I do see that message you mention when I hover over the checkmark.

I have used this many times before so I can't figure out what I'm doing differently this time. I took off the due date too in case that was the issue.

I truly appreciate your advice.

I have filed a ticket about this in Canvas too. I will post any response I get from them and if I am able to resolve this.

If you hover those faded out checkmark icons, you'll most likely see the following message, "Can't unpublish [assignment name] if there are student submissions".

Is the screenshot you provided of that rubric with the checkmarks and Xs what you are using to grade and that your student(s) cannot see?  If so, that does not look like a standard Canvas-built rubric.  If you were to build that rubric into your Canvas course and use it for grading, the comments should be viewable by your students.

If you could provide some more details about how you are including that rubric with your assignment and how you are using it to grade (if it is a separate attachment, if you are using the Canvas Rubrics tool, etc.), that would be helpful.
