How can students see their 'real grade' in their class?

I am an admin for a few sub-accounts in my organization. The students in one subaccount in particular can only see their final score. That is, the total points they have earned over the total points in the course (other subaccounts sync with our SIS). This results in them seeing a very low grade with it gradually increasing as assignments are graded and points are awarded, assuming they are earning decent grades. There does not exist a checkbox or option for them to 'Calculate based only on graded assignments'.

How can I get them to see the grade based only on the graded assignments?

Hi @brian_t_anders,

What kind of assignments are the oens where the 0's aren't being applied by the missing policy?  One of the notes about missing policies is "The Missing Submission policy is not automatically applied to No Submission, On Paper, or External Tool assignments with the exception of New Quizzes quizzes."  I'm wondering if the assignments are one of the types that the missign ppolicy does not work for, and that's why you're not seeing 0s get assigned.

Thanks for the info. I've included a few screenshots here to give some more background. These are taken from the student POV. As you can see, there aren't any zeroes being assigned and even though we have the 'automatically apply grade for missing submissions' (set at 0%) enabled, it has no affect on what students see.

Regarding the javascript/css question, I am not an admin for our entire org, so could it be the case if our main sub-account has some sort of process running, I couldn't see it? I am still working on getting some answers with our admins, but with something as imperative as knowing your grade as a student and without knowing if and where a setting exists, I'm reaching out here to get an answer sooner.

Hi @brian_t_anders,

I'm not aware of any build-in subaccount settings around this at all.  Is it possible that the teachers with courses in that subaccount have developed a common practice among themselves to give all assignments a default grade of 0 in the gradebook?  If that's not the case, I wonder if that subaccount has some kind of javascript/css modification in the theme that nay be doing this.  If you could maybe check on these things and report back, that would be awesome. I'm very intrigued by what's going on in that subaccount…
