A recent change my students have been complaining about is that they now have to wait for Canvas to process submissions so that it can be displayed within the browser before they can check that the submission worked. When the servers are heavily loaded I have seen student need to wait 5 minutes for this. When submitting at the end of a class period this is unacceptable. While the processing is going on the students should be able to download the file to verify it. That is the way things used to work. Am I the only one who has students for whom this is causing problems?
My students have requested a reversion to the previous behavior until the immediate download capability can be made available, while the processing is going on to display the submission in the browser.
