I’d like to raise a reporting/export limitation with New Quizzes when using the “Ungraded Survey” (ungraded) option.
Issue / current behavior
In an Ungraded Survey, the Reports area does not show Student Analysis or Quiz and Item Analysis. As a result, it appears there is currently no way to download a CSV that includes both (a) student identifiers and (b) each student’s responses in one export (this seems to be a New Quizzes limitation).
Workaround
It is possible to identify who submitted which responses by going to Manage → SpeedGrader (or View Log) and checking each student’s submission and user information individually.
Why this is a problem
This workaround requires reviewing students one by one, which becomes very time-consuming for large enrollments and is not practical for survey reporting workflows.
I also noticed that community guidance mentions that individual results can be confirmed via Manage → View Log, which aligns with what we’re seeing—however, the lack of a bulk CSV export remains a gap.
Request
We are hopping that for the future roadmap feature updates, that Instructure team considers support for a CSV download / export for surveys that includes:
- Student identifiers (name / SIS ID / login ID — or configurable)
- Each question and the student’s response(s)
- Timestamp (optional but helpful)
If this already exists in a newer workflow or hidden setting, I’d appreciate pointers. Otherwise, I’d like to submit this as a question/request.
