I'm an instructional designer. When I create or duplicate a discussion in a course, my name and profile pic show as the author & I can't change it. The only thing that seems to work is to create all the discussions as usual, then ask the instructor to duplicate them & delete my originals. This works, but faculty are unhappy about the extra steps, and also sometimes they mess it up and I have to fix it anyway. It is definitely not ideal.
I've tried several workarounds, with no luck. Now I'm trying workarounds for the workarounds.
- Is there ANY way to avoid my name appearing as the discussion author?
- How about a way to "copy to" discussions in the same course without overwriting previous copies?
- How about a way to import from another course or the Commons without duplicating the icon files used in my institution's template?
