Hi all, we are seing as issue where if a student answers a questions within the quiz which has an acceptable alternative response, and the point is upgraded from 0/1 - 1/1 (and update is pressed with adjustment saved) When the student has a 2nd attempt the original 1st attempt incorrect answer which has been marked as adjusted as correct is coming up again as an incorrect answer with no comment recored. Is thre some setting that can adjust this with the quiz TIA

If I understand correctly, you are manually awarding points for the alternative response. To Canvas, this does not make the question correct, it just awards points for it. Since the question itself was answered incorrectly, Canvas reasks the question when you tell New Quizzes to build on the last attempt.
For you, giving the student points means that the student provided an acceptable response. In other situations, the instructor may have decided to award points even if the answer is incorrect (one of the regrade options is to give everyone points). Even in a situation like yours, another instructor might give points for an alternative answer but want the student to review and learn the intended correct answer.
Canvas cannot know which situation it's dealing with, so it re-issues the question with the next attempt.
There is no option or setting to change this behavior.
If you want to make sure that an acceptable (but not supplied) question is marked as correct, you can either make sure that all acceptable answers are included or change the question wording to eliminate those other alternatives. Ideally, this would happen before the quiz is administered. In reality, that's not always possible.
I don't use New Quizzes except for testing purposes, but you might be able to fix the question answers by regrading a question rather than just going through and giving points for the alternative answers.

I am just curiousas to why there is not a field to enter a description for an outcome at the account level? Or at least edit the rating when you attach/link an account level outcome to a rubric.
