Hi, I want to create a question and answer discussion that will appear on every page of my CANVAS course. In every module no matter what section of the module the student clicks on. I want them to be able to ask questions from their classmates about things they don't understand. How do I do this? They do not click on the dicussion index page.

Hi @awasser ...

If I am understanding your question correctly, do you want one single discussion topic that you can put into each of your modules that students can access such that no matter which module they are currently working in, when they go to that topic, they always see the same topic and replies from fellow classmates? If so, that's pretty easy to do. You'll want to create your discussion topic first, which you can do either via your "Discussions" index page, or just create it via the "+" icon in any module within your course:

You would then just add that same discussion topic to each of your modules wherever you wanted it. Since the discussion topic has the exact same name, it will open up the same topic every time for you and your students.

I'm not 100% sure I've understood your question, but hopefully this gives you some ideas on where to start. Sing out if you have questions.

Allow Observers to View Instructor Comments
It would be very beneficial for observers (parents) if they could view instructor comments. If they had access to this information, they could better understand the grading of individual assignments and better understand the errors that their student made.
