I need to see what happens to the moderate data/information during a quiz. But when I take the quiz as a "test student" I don't get any moderation data. Suggestions?
Hi @RickBusselle ...
I'm not sure what your role is at your school (Teacher, I'm guessing?), but you might try using an actual dummy student account. If you are not a Canvas admin, maybe talk with your school's Canvas team to see if they would be willing to add a dummy student account to your course that you could use to test things out.
Also, I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not, but Canvas also has a "test" environment where you could test things out without disturbing anything in your school's Canvas "production" environment. The "production" environment is the Canvas site that you typically log into on a daily/semi-daily basis. I always encourage people to use this site if they don't want to mess up anything in their "production" site. It's literally for "testing" things out. Also, be sure to log out of "test" before you return to "production" ... just so you don't get confused about which site you are in. (I've done that myself, LOL!) Here are a few Guides for you:
I hope this might be of some help to you. Definitely talk with your school's Canvas team to see what they think is the best option for your specific needs. They should be able to assist you more. Good luck!
Hi all, I'm posting this here though we are using the Canvas Career instance because I think it's not specifically a Career issue. All of the embeds we have in our course are being blocked. It's fine in the admin view but when we view as learners, they are blocked (looking at the code, no links or URLs or iframes are…
The most recent quizzes and question banks (including renames) are not showing up as options in the Course Import Tool. As I was creating a new quiz in one course (Classic), I went to add the questions from the Question Bank, but what I needed wasn't there. I went back to the other course to make sure everything was…
These are feature suggestions. If there's a better place to put this post, please move it/let me know. Analytics We can see total time spend in the entire course, page views and participations already for each item. If we could see total time spent with each item, it would be very useful to gauge student actions in the…
In the wake of the recent Canvas security incident, many higher‑education instructors are rethinking how they protect their course materials and ensure continuity for students if the LMS becomes unavailable. A common question we’re hearing is how to effectively back up courses “just in case,” especially with an eye toward…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
