Taking a Screenshot of Material in Canvas

Greetings,

I recently created rubrics in the Canvas LMS and I would like to take screenshots of them to include in my professional web portfolio. However, when I attempt to screenshot a rubric the screen blacks out. Now I'm not sure how to share these rubrics without enrolling people in my course or taking a photo of the screen with my phone (which doesn't look very professional).

Is there any way for me to take screenshots of my rubrics, or get around that black-out feature?

Hi @CBGlendening,

That seems like very unusual behavior. I can tak screenshots of basically anything in Canvas without any issue. If you're using a school/institution Canvas, you may want to reach out to your local Canvas team (usually found in the eLearning, IT, or Digital Education area) to see if they have some sort of customization in place that is blacking out the screen. I know there are some schools experimenting with doing that to combat AI tools being able to answer quiz questions and assignments for students.

Typically, if you use the print screen feature on your Mac/PC you can get the entire window and then edit/crop the full screen image. You can also go to View Graded Rubric, select Print Rubric, select a PDF driver, and select Print. You can then work with the pdf version and screen capture or insert from there.
