I have a student whose current situation is forcing them to either do the entire online course as soon as possible or drop the course. I am willing to do this for this student, but would rather my locking/unlocking schedule stay the same for the rest of the class as this greatly affects my own grading schedule. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!
Hi @claudia_quinter
There might be a few ways you could try this. Could you look into duplicating the pages and then assigning these duplicates to the one student - leaving the original course structure and schedule as planned for the class? Or similar, but different, create a section just for the one student and put the content there?
Thanks
Jen
Hi there @claudia_quinter ,
Have you considered using the 'Assign To' feature for modules / assignments? This allows you to assign a module to a specific student without granting access to the rest of the students until you include 'everyone else' in the assign to. You can then set custom due dates for that student only and keep the same dates for the rest of your class.
How do I assign an assignment to everyone, individual students, differentiated tags, or sections?
I hope this helps!Noah
I agree with @oneilllj.
Hi,
The "Assign to" solution works perfectly for documents and assignments/quizzes but not Modules. The "Assign to " function in a Module only allows for assigning once. So for instance, you could assign a module to a student and they could gain access to that module on a specific date, but you are not able to add another "Assign to" window for other students or everyone else, in that same Module.
It could work if you duplicated your Modules, allowing the single student access to the duplicated version and assigning that module just to them. I would pay attentiom to any assignments that would be created when dulicating Modules - this could be a bit of hassle depending on the complexity of your course.
Best,
Freya

Hi everyone, I am new to the role and trying to set the new term in Canvas for Year 12 graduating in 2027. With the Sentral sync, the Year 12 courses are created automatically with change of class name, however in Canvas the new course has the old term and SIS ID. So , instead of Y12_2027 it is still Y12_2026. I have tried…

I am just curiousas to why there is not a field to enter a description for an outcome at the account level? Or at least edit the rating when you attach/link an account level outcome to a rubric. When you create a new criterion for a rubric, you enter a decription for a rating, but for an account level outcome.
We use a pre- post- model to measure learning which requires student-question matching from two time periods. This requires exporting quiz data to CSV to do the analysis properly. (I can get into more detail if needed.) The New Quizzes Student Analysis CSV export has repeated blocks of ItemID then columns related to that…
