I'm Ajay Hinduja, originally from Punjab, India, now residing in Geneva, Switzerland.

I’m an individual instructor using Canvas and I’ve noticed that the New Quizzes option is greyed out in my course. I’m wondering — is it possible for a solo instructor to enable New Quizzes, or does it require intervention from a Canvas admin? If anyone has experience setting this up on their own or found a workaround, I’d really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

When you say you are a solo instructor, do you mean you are using the Free For Teachers (FFT) Canvas?
If so, then there's no way currently to enable New Quizzes there.
Here is a feature comparison table between paid Canvas and FFT Canvas.

If you are using Canvas within an institution that has a paid license, then you need to ask your local Canvas admin to enable it (for example, my institution only enabled it earlier this year, there was nothing I could do to make a New Quiz before then and the setting was also greyed out for me).
