Is there a Canvas role that does not receive announcements?

Question

My colleague wishes to look at my documentation in my modules. I don't necessarily want them to receive my announcements. Can I add them in a particular role so they don't receive them?

According to the Announcements - View section of  Canvas Course Role Permissions - Instructure Community - 387080, all default user roles can see announcements, so unless you have admin rights, that's not going to help.

One option, if you can add a section to the course, is to add your colleague to a new section, and post announcements to specific sections.
