How do instructors use mobile app to grade students in Canvas gradebook for a No Submission assignment. Looks like mobile app works fine for submission based assignments, but not for a No Submission assignment. How do instructors do this?
Hi @michaelfischer ,
I am not so familiar with the Canvas Instructor mobile app, but I fiddled around with the iOS app and this is what I found.
You can go into the Assignment, then click Submissions.
You'll see a list of All submissions.
From there tap the student you want to grade. You'll see grades at the bottom. Swipe up, and you should see a points slider based on the number of points you defined for the assignment. Set the points for that student's submission. You can swipe left and right to go to the next student. Or click Done if you want to go back to the list.
Hope that helps!

However, at my institution, we structure our assignments as Challenges that develop over a period of time, rather than just a single deadline. Currently, the calendar only highlights the "end point." It would be a…
The current placement of the "Submit" button creates a "slip" in user behavior where habit-clicking "Next" leads to an accidental final submission. I think Canvas could easily fix this by: Moving the Submit button away from the navigation buttons (maybe above the question instead of below it) and/or Adding a "Confirm…
Hi there. I started playing with portfolio this week. I'm looking at how a portfolio can be used across several semesters for programmatic assessment. In my Canvas site I can create a portfolio and link courses and assignments from this semester, but I can't edit it to add new courses each new session. Is that on the…
