On my dashboard the spacing of the font is triple, this goes for everything that is linked to canvas- the quizzes that are on canvas also have triple spacing. I must've clicked on something that made the spacing be so wide.
Hello @IsabellaG__13 - to troubleshoot, the first thing I would do is see if this happens in a different browser. If this image is from Chrome, then try Firefox. If it does not happen there, then I would first clear the cookies and cache in the original browser to see if that resolves the issue. Next up I suggest checking the web browser settings. For example, have you edited the browser font? I ask as the left menu looks unique and so the settings may be changed. The module title font appears to be set with fixed spacing - but as far as I am aware there isn't a setting in Canvas to create the effect of fixed spacing. Did your instructor do this by design?
Another thought - have you installed a browser extension recently that created this change? When I see something odd happening I turn off my browser extensions one at a time, refreshing the page each time, to see if one is somehow impacting what I am seeing on the screen.
Lastly - if other students see the same font and text being spread out, perhaps that is a setting put in place by the school. If I saw that I would assume it was done in error and I would ask the school Canvas admin to revert back. This is why I suggested one of your first steps to be to clear the cookies and cache.
It is likely something simple we've overlooked. If I were to bet, I'd go with a browser extension creating the issue.
Please share the resolution here. ;o)
Best, Jeff
With the new SpeedGrader UI, we are seeing student names appear in the page title even when the “Hide student names” setting is enabled. When using Classic Quizzes, there is no option within the quiz settings to enable anonymous grading, so we rely on instructors using the hide student names setting in SpeedGrader to…
Has anyone had a chance to try this with a Canvas quiz? Seems it may have a similar effect as ChatGPT Atlas able to provide all the answers to an open Quiz. https://www.theregister.com/2026/03/05/microsoft_adds_a_sidepane_for/
When you are creating a quiz and/or also reviewing a quiz in Canvas after the class has taken it, the questions aren't numbered so after you get past the first few questions, there is no way to even tell what number you are on. Can someone change that?
Speedgrader chaning file name when being downloaded. Speedgrader: When downloading a submitted assignment, the file name is being changed to an unrecognizable name — (Student's actual name was part of the file name — changed for privacy.) Ideas???
We are all familiar with the standard Course Calendar, where assignment due dates are automatically added. However, at my institution, we structure our assignments as Challenges that develop over a period of time, rather than just a single deadline. Currently, the calendar only highlights the "end point." It would be a…
