I'm trying to add a criteria into a rubrics. I only see an option to add a criteria at the very end. Is there a way to re-order the criteria within the rubrics?
Thanks
Hi @NehaGulati,
With the standard rubrics in Canvas, unless you're using some kind of modification script, you can't add a criteria in the middle of others. Unfortunately, you also can't rearrange things, so if you need to add something in the middle it would be a lot of retyping.
The good news is that Instructure is currently developing what they call "enhanced rubrics" which have a lot more features, but also some added complexity because of the extra features. You may or may not have access to these in your Canvas course, depending what your school/institution administrators have enabled for you. You can read more about the enhanced rubrics in the Enhanced Rubrics User Group.
I hope this helps, even if it's not the info you hoped to hear right away.

Hi there, @NehaGulati ...
In addition to what @chriscas has mentioned, if you are still using the standard rubrics, @James Jones has developed a script that allows you to re-order rubrics. You can find it at:
Sorting Rubrics Made Easy - Instructure Community - 272179
This is one of his many Canvancements - Canvas Enhancements - Instructure Community - 246997 that you can check out whenever you want.
I hope this will be of some help to you. If you have questions about James' script, I would encourage you to post your question(s) to James' blog post.
Good luck!
I'm not sure that this is the right place to post about this, but I was wondering if anyone has a fix for how the scroll bar for the entire page covers the scroll bar for just a document viewed in Canvas. The scroll bar for a document will stay visible until one attempts to interact with it, at which point the bar for the…
Hi There, We are in the process of transitioning to Canvas this year and were wanting to connect with any other MYP schools to see how you setup Assignment and grading under your modules. Or you could guide us to any resources you may have.
After using Canvas for a while, I picked up a small habit that’s saved me some last-minute stress with written submissions. Even when drafts are original, longer explanations and summaries tend to reuse common phrasing, especially in research-heavy assignments. Before submitting, I usually do a quick cleanup pass to reduce…
In the "How do I use the Learning Mastery Gradebook" page, under "Student scores" (https://community.instructure.com/en/kb/articles/660932-how-do-i-use-the-learning-mastery-gradebook-to-view-outcome-results-in-a-course#view-student-scores), the displayed gradebook shows a little colorful square and also points for each…
In Classic Quizzes, it is possible to display question-level feedback to students without manually grading an essay question on a quiz. Can this be enabled in New Quizzes? Use Case: This feature is vital for practice quizzes that include essay questions along with other question types. We mix essay questions with other…
