Is there a way to create an eight question quiz and set it to only count off 3 points per question?

I want to create an 8 question quiz and only have questions count off 3 points a piece. When I set the question points for 3 points it count off more that that. I want them to be able to miss one question and make a 97. Right now if they miss one, it gives them a grade of an 87. Is there a way to do this?

Here is a workaround to consider. Add a trivial ninth question worth 76 points to your quiz (e.g. a multiple choice question "Did you take the quiz?") that students can easily answer correctly to get the baseline/minimum/free points. 76 points will complement the 24 points from the 8 actual questions and yield 100 total points.
