My course is published as of today. I'm trying to see my students. I see no People tab? Help.
Thanks
Hi @willamwatson1 ,Does your school pay for Canvas? Are you using the free for teacher version?
Either way, there are a couple ways to view the people in your course. The first way is locating the 'People' button located on your courses side-navigation bar. Another way is by going to your course settings > sections and by clicking on the name of the section and the list of people will appear.
The last way to view your users is by adding /users to the end of your course URL. For example, the URL would look like this: schoolname.instructure.com/courses/344/users. Replace schoolname with your school's name, or with the word canvas if you're using the free for teacher edition.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!
Noah
Hi @willamwatson1,
If you are not seeing a "People" link from the left-side course navigation, you may have clicked on the "three horizontal lines" icon (commonly referred to as a "hamburger" menu in web design) in the upper-left corner next to either the Canvas logo or your institution's logo.
The University of Minnesota has a "Canvas: Course Navigation Menu Show/Hide Toggle" support article at https://it.umn.edu/services-technologies/how-tos/canvas-course-navigation-menu-showhide that can help you out.

You could check in course Settings, under the Navigation tab, to see if People is activated. Activated items appear in the top list. If it's in the bottom list, you can drag it to the top. Don't for get to press Save at the bottom before leaving Navigation.
I've searched the community and guide and see results for New Quizzes when using preview. I saved the preview version of an exam in Classic because a student was having technical problems, and we couldn't find another way for him to take the test quickly. But I cannot find the results anywhere, even though I submitted the…
Would anyone have CSS code that limits an instructor's ability to change the course code field on the Settings page? If the course code field can be hidden that would also work for our needs. We need to allow instructors the ability to change the course name, but not the course code. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I have a test (new quiz) that asks students to do some computational or mathematical process and come up with a few specific answers. This is a fill-in-the-blank question. This can be the result of a mathematical, coding, or analytical process. In my case, it is a SQL query. I follow up each of these with an essay question…
We had a situation where an instructor meant to import their course content into next terms course but accidentally imported the content onto the same course thus wiping out all the student grades, submissions, quiz data, and discussion prompt content. I was able to download the content from the Beta Environment, but there…
I assigned the first draft of an assignment. Each student got rubric comments from me and from one peer. The Speed Grader view gives me a "Select Rubric" menu, allowing me to toggle between my comments and the peer comments. But the Gradebook's "Bulk Download Rubrics" command generates a CSV file with only the peers'…
