Authentication options for optional Single Sign On

Hi community,

We have SSO configured in Canvas to work with Microsoft 365 accounts, but some learners do not use Microsoft 365. In the Canvas student app learners have no choice and are prompted to login using Microsoft 365 account. Is there a way to allow learners to change login options to use their Canvas username and password or Microsoft 365 account?

Hi @Inna_M,

What you'd likely want to do is setup a Discovery Page in your Authentication settings area.  You basically create an HTML page with direct login links to your different authentication methods.  You set the URL for that page as the discovery page, and then whenever a user needs to login to your Canvas instance, they are directed to that discovery page to pick the right login method.  There is a nice blog post about this that is a few years old, but still seems to have accurate info in my opinion.
