I created a group assignment. Can individual students see their group mate's submissions? If they can, is there a way that they cannot see each other's submissions in the same group?
Hi @degrusonm,
In Canvas, when you create a group assignment, the system is setup to treat it as a collaborative assignment, meaning the group members are all going to work together on one submission. When any single group member makes a submission, the submission will show as being for everyone in the group. You can choose to grade individually, but that just means you can enter a different score for student 1 and student 2, but for the same submission. The How do I assign an assignment to a course group? - Instructure Community - 633 guide goes in to a but more detail on this.
From your question, it sounds like you don't want to configure the assignment as a group assignment in Canvas. You could still have the students work together in reality, but have their work all be separate and individually submitted and graded.
Hope this helps!

Here is a screenshot from an attempt to create a new Athena account. What does it mean when it says "supports open Canvas connections" or "Canvas Connection Open"? Can we close our Canvas instance to connections?
Is having students read the textbook considered an assignment or an activity if there is no grade but a required date?
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
