I am a TA at the University of Maryland. I had something to share with the students in the Chat. I noticed that I had typos only after posting my message. I tried to edit or delete it and none of those options were available. I had to contact my professor who appeared to be the only person who is allowed to delete the messages in a Chat.
I think it is essential to allow users, especially, TAs being able to delete their messages.
