How do I remove a hyperlink from SOME of the text but not all?

I have text entry with a hyperlink and I want to add more detail in parentheses after but as soon as I continue typing behind the hyperlink it automatically continues the link - I don't want this.  If I select only the text I don't want to by linked it removes the entire hyperlink.  Is there a way around this?  FYI it's in bulleted format, I don't know if that's relevant or not.

The easy answer is this: remove the hyperlink, edit the text, and create a new hyperlink.
