I have a student who seems to get a blue icon displaying next to some of the courses they are enrolled in. They do not appear to have any missing assignments but these blue dots display in the dashboard. Is there a way to remove them or hide them?

Normally in Canvas a blue dot appears next to something that is unread. So that you can easily tell what announcements or discussions you haven't seen/read yet. If the student clicks on that item and goes back to their dashboard, it should disappear. If it isn't being removed after viewing these items, It is likely their internet browser and we recommend clearing the cache and cookies or trying another browser.
