Are other institutions using a tool to match students based on ranked preferences? While I do not have experience with it myself, I do know a faculty member who uses the CATME Team-Maker tool. It might be possible to manipulate the criteria in order for the students to rank their preferences. If you try it, let us know how it turns out!
