I have a student who needs an opportunity to "redo" an assignment. I don't want to add submissions to the rest of my class, but I want to allow this student the chance to resubmit. How do I do this?

Thank you for sharing your question with the community of Canvas users.
First, you can make use of the "Reassign Assignment button."
Also, if the original submission window has concluded, you'll need to assign the student to a new availability window using differentiated assignments. Just make sure you click on the [+Add] button and don't remove the assignment in the "Assign to" field that says Everyone (or Everyone Else).

Among all the things that I wish Canvas had is that one! Is it something that is been worked on? We had it in Blackboard (legacy) and I sorely miss and need in Canvas (we just transitioned to it from Bb). Please add this very needed feature!
I have Canvas set to drop the lowest quiz score, however, my students can only barely tell that the grade text is slightly grey when dropped. Can it have a tag like the "missing" and "exempt" ones in the student gradebook?
