I am specifically talking about each assignment column, but why isn't there a date range row in this little box? Seems easy enough to add since these are attached to every published assignment. It is very hard to navigate all my assignments (even if Canvas orders them from Oldest to Newest etc.) especially when you have cross-listed sections and those assignments that have multiple due dates appear as the last columns. I keep a separate spreadsheet so I can grade any time (even without Canvas) and going back and forth to look up assignments is so time-consuming!
@Msrendonart I know they are working on the UI for the Gradebook right now. I would recommend sharing this idea in the Canvas Collaborative Roadmap using he Share a Contribution button.
I'm curious — by Date Range, do you mean the availability dates for the Assignment? Or the Grading Period dates? Do you have Grading Periods at your school district? We have the option to apply a filter in the Grade book by Grading Period so we can view only Quarter 1, Quarter 2, Quarter 3, or Quarter 4 assignments.
I mean instead of just this:
It would be this:
The date range would only be for those assignments that were due after the date they were made available. It seems like a simple enough add since the data is already in Canvas. At the moment, you have to click into the actual assignment to see the dates or on Modules it only shows the due date.

Hi all, When uploading a SCORM package and outputting as an assignment, full screen works within the package. However when outputted as a page, it doesn't. Anyone found a getaround that isn't "just use the assignment option??"
Our institution is setting up 9 institutional outcomes in Canvas. Several of our outcomes have multiple skill sets within the rubric. For example: Critical Reading – Skill Set A Critical Reading – Skill Set B Critical Reading – Skill Set C Our understanding is that Canvas Outcomes data reports can provide the overall/total…
I am just curiousas to why there is not a field to enter a description for an outcome at the account level? Or at least edit the rating when you attach/link an account level outcome to a rubric. When you create a new criterion for a rubric, you enter a decription for a rating, but for an account level outcome.
We use a pre- post- model to measure learning which requires student-question matching from two time periods. This requires exporting quiz data to CSV to do the analysis properly. (I can get into more detail if needed.) The New Quizzes Student Analysis CSV export has repeated blocks of ItemID then columns related to that…
