Is it possible to lock an assignment for only 1 student?
Based on your description, it sounds like you might also be interesting in limiting submission attempts. You can set up your assignment so students can only submit once, and after that, they will no longer be able to submit a new attempt. However, this is on an assignment-wide basis and applies to all students given the assignment.

What do you mean by "lock an assignment"? Do you want the student to be able to see the directions and rubric for the assignment but not be able to submit it? Do you want the assignment completely hidden from one student but visible to all other students in your course? If you could provide some more details about your request, we might be able to give some suggestions for you. Thanks!
