How can I edit a comment I made to a student's work? I do not see an edit key, etc. The only way I can address this is to submit an additional separate comment. I just want to be able to make a correction or edit.
That's correct, @KevinRM ...
There currently isn't a way to edit comments you leave for submitted assignments on the right-hand panel of the SpeedGrader. In looking at this Guide, How do I leave feedback comments for student submi... - Instructure Community - 764 (canvaslms.com), there doesn't appear to be a way to edit existing comments that have already been submitted back to the student. You'd have to post a new comment or delete the old comment to post the new feedback with the correction (you could just copy and paste the old comment, make the edits, and then submit the comment again). Keep in mind, if you do this, then a new date/time stamp will show for your submitted comment back to the student.
I have some good news for you, though! I just searched the Community to see if there were any existing Ideas that had been submitted about this same topic. I came across this one, and it is showing a status of "In Development"! [Speedgrader] Editing Comments in SpeedGrader - Instructure Community - 579582 (canvaslms.com) Now, I don't know exactly when we'll see this released, but I hope it will be of some help to you. Consider following the Canvas Product Roadmap - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) so you have an idea of what Instructure is working on for the near future.
Hope this helps.

We understand that according to this help documentation, short name maps to Canvas display name. This documentation and this Canvas community…
We use course pacing to manage due dates, because we run ~20 something courses each quarter and manually setting due dates would be a nightmare. Several courses have two core topics. We want to allow students to choose which of these they will pursue first. Is there any way to configure multiple course paces with different…
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
