If a course is set up for self-enrollment, you can use a join code or secret URL.

I don't know if there is any way to set up an access code when the course is rostered (such as from an SIS), but you can lock the modules by using requirements and prerequisites.

It's important to note that course codes may already be automatically generated by your Institution through a Student Information System. If you find that the Course Code field is not editable for you, you would need to work with your Institution's LMS administrator to make any changes.
