How do I turn OFF predictive text when I am writing anywhere within Canvas (including right now as I am composing this message)? I just want to permanently turn off the setting, as I find it incredibly distracting. Thank you!
Hello there, @NoraIsacoff ...
On my Windows 11 laptop, I use the Microsoft Edge browser, and I have predictive text turned on. I find it incredibly helpful because I can start to type a word (even here in the Community), and if it predicts the word(s) I want to use, I can just hit the "Tab" key on my keyboard, and it will fill in the word(s) for me. Otherwise, if I don't want to use those words, I can continue typing whatever words I want.
I understand that you might not want to use this feature, though. If you are using the Edge browser, you can turn this off by doing the following:
There may be similar settings in other web browsers, but hopefully this will give you an idea of what to look for if you're not using Edge.
Good luck!
Hi @NoraIsacoff,
I don't currently have any predictive text here in the community or on Canvas itself. I'm using the Edge web browser on MacOS. I think what you're seeing is probably coming from your specific browser or device, not something Canvas itself is doing. I know mobile devices rely heavily on predictive text for a better user experience, so I do wonder if you're using a phone or tablet? Can you give us any more info about your device/browser so we may be able to give you some guidance on shutting off predictive text?

Hi everyone… Has anyone else run into issues with SAML authentication not working, but only on their beta instance? ETA: never mind! I had done my "testing" in the wrong quiz, which was a Classic Quiz quiz. I just tried again in the correct (migrated) new quiz, and I see now that the "file upload" question type DOES show the image in SG! — I rarely use Canvas quizzes, but am teaching a new asynch class this semester. I want students to…

Use Case: This feature is vital for practice quizzes that include essay questions along with other question types. We mix essay questions with other…
