Are you wanting a table layout to design navigation within your course? If so, tables are generally used to hold data and not as much design/layout. Though, I do understand why people would like to use tables for that purpose. Tables are not always accessible, either. So, that's another thing you'd want to keep in mind. You might want to check out these two items here in the Community:
