Are our course class times supposed to automatically appear in the calendar, or must we add dates, times, and locations for each course ourselves? I see assignments for one course on my calendar, but nothing else is there.

I'm not sure if you are a student or an instructor. If you are a student, this would be a question that you'd want to ask your instructor...which you can do directly in Canvas.
How do I get help with Canvas as a student?
If you are an instructor, I don't know of anything that would bring in class times to the Canvas Calendar. I do know that Student Information Systems (SISs) can populate the course start and end dates into the course "Settings" screen of Canvas, but this isn't the same as the course Calendar. You might want to have a discussion with your Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Learning team about best practices they recommend for displaying this information to your students...such as via an announcement, a content page, or even using the Calendar within Canvas.
